Yes, but not the way Instagram says. Dry, reasonably pure magnesium carbonate beats supermarket dust. After that, conditions and skin matter more than the logo on the bag. On a greasy Roaches sloper in July, no chalk is magic.
What we noticed
Chunky chalk lasts on grit. Super-fine chalk feels nice for one go and then paints the hold. Liquid chalk is a gym and humid-day tool — check the wall’s rules before you crack a bottle.
